The www.foodgeek.sydney is an Australian website and is owned by District Food Group Pty Ltd trading as Food geek Sydney. These terms and conditions regulate the relationship between you, the customer, and us, the supplier (“FGS”). By using our website in any way, or by buying from us, you agree to be bound by them.

No person under the legal age of 18 may purchase goods.

OUR SERVICE

Via our website, www.foodgeek.sydney, it provides the customer access to resources, download areas, communication platforms and product information. Our website service includes updates, site enhancements, new and updated features and are the subject of the terms and conditions.

ACCEPTANCE OF OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The services that Food Geek Sydney provides to users is subject to the following terms and conditions (“TAC”). Food Geek Sydney reserves the right to update the TAC at any time without notice to the customer. The most current version of our TAC can be reviewed by clicking on the TAC hyperlink button on the bottom of the web pages.

ORDERS

Delivery Monday - Friday between 8:00am - 4:00pm

It is a requirement that catering orders be placed and received no later than 36 hours prior to your scheduled delivery time.

Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday orders please contact our customer service team to assist.

Any amendments or late orders must be called through to our office number (02 9356 4132) with a follow up email detailing your changes.

We will make every effort to provide catering for last minute orders, this will be based on product and labour availability. Orders placed after the above order deadlines may incur a late booking fee of 10%.

CONFIRMATION OF ORDER

To confirm drop off catering orders, upon receipt of your catering confirmation email, ensure all details are correct including time of delivery and collection, number of people, location and contact details. If you would like to proceed with the order and have received the order invoice (not as a quote) then no further action is required. It will be locked in for production. Any changes must be communicated immediately.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Food Geek Sydney can accommodate most special dietary requirements; however we will require advance notice. All dietary requirements are to be provided in writing prior to your event day and will not be confirmed until Food Geek Sydney has accepted that it can be accommodated.

Our menu plans have vegetarian and gluten free options. We can tailor our menu to most dietary requirements if catering orders are confirmed within the above timelines.

Any dietary requirement above and beyond vegetarian will be plated separately and labeled accordingly.

Please note that we do not operate a nut-free kitchen.

PAYMENTS

Credit cards will be required for all bookings. By entering your credit card details online to confirm your order, you agree the Food Geek Sydney may charge the card provided for services rendered. Credit card authorisation form needs to be filled in for confirmation of all orders.

If you wish to go on account with Food Geek Sydney, you will need to fill in our credit application form for approval. Payment terms are strictly 7 days from receipt of invoice.

An invoice will be emailed to you once the order is delivered.

DELIVERY TIMES

Standard delivery times are 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Weekend delivery and public holiday services are available upon request. Additional charges including staffing will apply for weekends, public holidays and deliveries outside standard operating hours.

Free delivery with in Sydney CBD (5km radius). Delivery fees will apply when servicing locations beyond.

For deliveries outside 30km, please contact the Food Geek Sydney office, as additional surcharges will apply.

Please note the above, delivery rates and minimum spend are for most orders, however there may be additional charges on certain orders.

MINIMUM ORDERS

Monday to Friday [excluding public holidays] - $250,00 minimum order

Weekends, excluding public holidays - $1500,00 minimum order

Orders below $250.00 are encouraged to increase the order to meet the minimum or the shortfall will be applied. 

CANCELLATIONS

A 100% cancellation fee will apply when your catering requirements have been confirmed in writing and an order is cancelled less than 24 hours prior to delivery. This covers the costs incurred with regards to food, labour or other services.

PRESENTATION

Our catering will be delivered in disposable, 100% bio-degradable catering trays.

EQUIPMENT HIRE

We have a full range of hire equipment for events or alternatively we can source anything you may require.

Breakage or loss of any hired equipment will be charged to the client at retail prices for its replacement. Delivery and collection fees may also apply.

LOST OR DAMAGED EQUIPMENT

Any lost or broken equipment will be charged at replacement cost. By confirming your order you agree to the above terms and conditions and accept responsibility to abide by these terms.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGE

Neither Food Geek Sydney, nor any Food Geek Sydney employee shall be liable for any loss or damage sustained by the client, the client’s guests, or by any person, firm or corporation supplying the client. The client shall be responsible for making good any damage or loss caused to the venue and Food Geek Sydney’s, furniture, fittings & equipment arising out of or in the course of the client’s event.

REFUNDS AND RETURNS

If the goods or services received are defective or not fit for purpose, a full refund, credit or replacement will be provided. Please note that products cannot be returned due to change of mind, incorrect choice, or the item does not fit. This replacement extends to damage caused in-transit.

We guarantee that Food Geek Sydney goods are:
o Acceptable quality, safe, durable and free from defects.
o They will be acceptable in appearance and finish.
o Match the description given to you [may differ slightly in presentation as all are hand made products]

Please provide details of the manner in which the goods fail to serve their purpose, or are defective. We welcome accompanying documentation i.e. Photographs.

RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL AND THE LAW

Food Geek Sydney subcontracts the responsible service of alcohol to its subsidiary company Bayleaf Sydney Pty Ltd A.C.N. 607 976 063 trading as “Bayleaf Sydney’’ who operate under NSW liquor license LIQO624012791 / Gold License 153.

Unbelievable. We paid upfront and our business lunch order failed to arrive. We had to empty the local cafe at the last minute. My colleagues and I have called several times (Food Geek's phone is never answered and does not go to message bank), sent three emails to all the email addresses I could, and submitted two web contact forms. It has now been a week and we have not heard a single word from Food Geek about how/why our order failed to materialise, or when we can expect to receive a refund for an order worth several hundred dollars. I have never had such a woeful experience doing business with a catering company. Buyer beware. Our order worth hundreds of dollars didn't turn up. There's been no phone call, no refund, nothing. Absolutely shocking.

We would give 0 if I could! The order that have been paid in full was cancelled 1 day before the event! Our team had a massive headache dealing with this company. We made our full payment as soon as quote was generated a week before the event. However, we received no response and no receipt. We tried emailing almost every 2 days to ask if payment has gone through. We tried calling multiple times at different days and left voice mails. no response again. Luckily our member had previously dealt with a sister company and we contacted them and enquired. This was 1 day before the big event. Sister company notified us that: (1) the order was never placed in their system. The guy Carlos who was in touch with us was apparently away on leave?! They why did they not forward this to someone else in the company? (2) they CANNOT make our order as they are shortstaffed due to covid. (3) they can offer us a refund (not even compensation?!) Note that this was notified to us ONE DAY BEFORE THE BIG EVENT. Surely you know catering companies need at least 3 - 4 days lead time? It is not the problem with refund, it's the fact that the event is in one day! Then, When we thought that the issue is resolved, the catering order came on the day of the event and was dropped off. We tried to call them but again, no response. We left the foods untouched on the night as we had agreed on full refund. What's even worse is that, we had to transport the food back to our facility as the venue does not allow leaving foods. We had to allocate team late at night to transport this. The next day, we tried calling again and left multiple voicemails. Haylee from Foodgeek picked up and said that she has been sick. Why is no one else from the company responding? The staff from Foodgeek was not even apologetic. We received an apology from the sister company only. We only received our refund after about 1 month, and after multiple follow up emails. Don't even waste your time.

Yet to try out Food Geek as a service yet, however your staff might want to rethink having road rage with a young family during school traffic outside a junior school in Bondi. Whoever the impatient Mike Tyson was behind the wheel of a small black van (Rego CAC***) with a large "Food Geek" logo on the side, blasting his horn and gesturing at us infront of onlookers this afternoon might need to tone his attitude down and learn to be more courteous to other road users.

Love Food Geek Sydney. The food is absolutely delicious, so fresh with plenty of healthy options as well as some great treats. Excellent customer service, easy to order, easy to update orders, always deliver on time with a smile. Can't recommend them highly enough.
